Dr Beatrice Hannah
I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology skilled in providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to adults, young people and families. In my NHS job I am working as a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist in a Looked After Children team in Wandsworth Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). I have experience providing comprehensive assessment and intervention to those who have experienced trauma and other mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression. I also have experience providing consultation and support to professionals and carers experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue and secondary trauma. I have expertise in working with young people with neurodevelopmental difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attentional Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
In 2016, I completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN), King’s College London. My thesis was looking at the impact of Secondary Trauma in foster carers (Hannah, B. & Woolgar, M. (2018). Secondary trauma and compassion fatigue in foster carers. Clinical child psychology and psychiatry, 23(4), 629-643). Prior to this, I achieved First-Class Honours for a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham. I have been employed by the NHS since 2010.
I am skilled in providing a range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Mentalisation based therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. In my private practice I can offer a range of intervention in general mental health as well as impact of trauma on young people, family and professional burnout, stress related illness and therapeutic parenting. I supervise Clinical Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists and provide regular training in a range of areas including self-harm, therapeutic parenting, attachment and child development. I am able to offer regular 1:1 or online therapy sessions or one-off consultations.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
