Dr Lucy Sawyer
I am a Chartered Doctor of Clinical Psychology, with 22 years’ experience of working with adults, children and families. In my NHS post I am a Principal Clinical Psychologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, working with families with a range of challenges and family demands. In my privately practice I specialise in working with adults and young people.
I have had extensive training in evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), solution-focused, narrative and systemic approaches. This allows me to tailor my approach to an individual or family. My work can be focused and short-term or more exploratory and longer term, according to individual need, preferences or situation.
Therapy can be a valuable space to allow time to talk about feelings of anxiety, low mood, anger, relational issues, habits or behaviours that you may like to move on from. I am committed to helping my clients develop and achieve what is important to them, in accordance with their values and beliefs.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
