Dr Diana Cooke
I am a Chartered Doctor of Clinical Psychology with 20 years’ experience of working in the NHS and private practice in the area of child and adolescent mental health. I hold a further Master’s Degree in Psychology, a Postgraduate Certificate in Systemic Therapy and Group Analysis.
I enjoy working across the age range, from babies, toddlers, primary aged children to young adults and their families on a range of issues. I have a special interest in children and young adult with emotional difficulties, anxiety, low mood, anger, low self-esteem, relationships, trauma, loss, development and behaviour issues. I also offer parental support and consultation.
I am often described by clients and colleagues as warm and thoughtful. I have extensive training in child development and can apply these evidence-based therapeutic models to the needs of each individual child, young person and their family. I use integrated therapeutic models and interventions from cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), systemic and narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (including mindfulness), attachment ideas and neuropsychology.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
