Dr Gail Wingham
I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology with over 10 years of experience providing adults, adolescents and children with therapeutic interventions to address all aspects of mental health challenges. My clinical practice has predominantly been in the NHS, but I have also worked for third sector organisations (charities) and for private clients.
In my therapy, I use a compassionate and integrative approach, using evidence-based models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Eye-movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. This allows me to provide highest quality therapy, supported by clinical evidence, that is perfectly tailored to an individual’s needs and aspirations. This includes managing stress and wellbeing in the workplace and home, addressing problems with mood e.g. low self-esteem, low mood/motivation/depression, panic attacks, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), extreme worry/General Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and working with more complex, long-standing difficulties such as trauma, history of abuse, addiction and psychosis.
I have a warm, non-judgemental and empathetic style that will help you overcome the difficulties you are facing. We will work towards a life that reflects your goals and values; a life that you deserve. I have worked with people from many diverse walks of life and cultural backgrounds and I have always placed my clients in the centre of their experiences and recovery.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
