Uk Psychologist Katja

Dr Grainne Turley

I am a Chartered Doctor of Clinical Psychology and trained at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IOPPN, Kings College London). I specialise in working with young people, families and adults. I currently work as a Senior Clinical Psychologist at the National and Specialist CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) Dialectical Therapy Service at the Maudsley Hospital providing therapy for young people and families. I have worked in the NHS for nearly 10 years.

I specialise in providing evidence-based effective therapies, dialectical behaviour therapy and trauma-focused interventions for young people who experience emotional issues and who struggle with self-harm and suicidal behaviours. In my private practice I specialise in low mood, anxiety, panic disorder, relationship difficulties, stress and trauma. I conduct cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and mindfulness approaches.

I am also a trained yoga therapist as I am interested in the mind-body connection and using body-based therapies to support healing from mental distress. Yoga therapy is an innovative mind-body approach to promoting the body’s natural healing mechanism by activating the parasympathetic nervous system. Yoga therapy is a combination of talking, mindfulness, breath practices and movement. I can provide traditional talking therapy, yoga therapy or a blend of both depending on the needs of the individual.

I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
