Dr Helena Kaliniecka
I am a Chartered Doctor of Clinical Psychology and have 10 post-doctoral years’ of as a clinical in the NHS and in private practice. I work with children, families and the professionals around them. I am Chartered by the British Psychology Society (BPS) and I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
I take a warm, playful approach, focusing on the expertise and strengths of the child and families. I am trained in a range of evidence-based practices around child development. I can tailor my work to the family or child using various therapeutic models (e.g. CBT, attachment, narrative approaches, systemic, solution-focused, community psychology, clinical neuropsychology) to help develop a shared understanding of the current difficulties and strengths, and ways to enable change. I have also specialised in different trauma approaches (EMDR [Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing], Tree of Life, KidNET). Other area of interest to me are difficulties adjusting to life transitions and events, traumatic experiences and loss, struggles with identity, low confidence/self-esteem and emotional difficulties such as low mood and anxiety.
I may be able to offer sessions through health care insurer: AXA, Vitality and BUPA.
