Dr Tom Grice
I am a Doctor of Clinical Psychology with 10 years’ experience on the NHS and work with adult, families and couples. I care deeply about helping people to relate in meaningful and kind ways to themselves, others, and the aspects of the world that matter to them. I believe that there is no single ‘right’ way to alleviate suffering and together we will discover what works for you.
I am a UK-based clinical psychologist and during my 10 years of experience in mental health, I have worked with people of all ages and from diverse cultural backgrounds, as inpatients and in the community, both in the UK and abroad.
I have a background working with people experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems, including depression, anxiety and interpersonal problems. Alongside private therapy I currently work in the NHS, supporting those who are struggling with the psychological impact of having long term physical health conditions.
I am open-minded and compassionate. My therapeutic approach is closely aligned to my personal values which include protecting nature and the environment, spending time outdoors and with loved-ones, and being attuned to global issues. I strive to create a safe space in which emotions, patterns of behaviour and the stories about who you are can be heard, understood and explored.
I am familiar with a range of therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioural approaches, interpersonal approaches, and narrative therapy. I am an Association of Family Therapy (AFT) accredited systemic practitioner and have experience working with couples and families.
I am registered with HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), which upholds high standards in professional codes of practice, qualification and ongoing training.
