Raj Sanger
Is a couple and family therapist with 17 years clinical experience. Clients who work with him often find he enables them to develop a different perspective on their situation. He is particularly interested in building connections and understandings within relationships. Clients find him approachable and non-judgemental.
In sessions he aims to ensure everyone is able to speak and express their views. He will meet the couple or whole family group together for a first session and then meet individuals in later sessions.
His approach is best described as psychodynamic or systemic, meaning he is interested in exploring the meaning and function of unhelpful relational dynamics. He has been trained in a range of therapeutic approaches, including:- humanistic-existential, person-centred, Gestalt, eclectic-integrative multi-modal therapy, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioural, mindfulness and psychodynamic.
In term of qualifications, he holds 2 Masters; one in Psychoanalysis and another in Integrative child/adolescent Counselling and Psychotherapy. He trained at the renowned Institute of Psychiatry, Maudsley Hospital, London. He is also a Clinical Supervisor of fellow psychotherapist across the age range and have been so for 12 years.
He is registered with the UKCP (United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy) and the ICP (Irish Council of Psychotherapy, Ireland), both require therapist to adhere to the highest standards of ethics, conduct and ongoing training.
